Kumbabishekam of A/M Selva Vinayagar Temple

Nadaswara Chakravarthi Dr Tiruvengadu Subramania Pillai established Arulmigu Selva Vinayagar Temple on the Eesanya Corner (where the South and East Mada veedhis meet at Tiruvengadu) and the first kumbabishekam was done on 25.03.1935. Subsequently Kumbabishekam was also performed on 19.5.1991 and 19.06.2003. Again after 12 years, Thiru M Govindaraja Pillai, Trustee, Renovation Committee and the Sculptor Thiru M Perumal took up the renovation of the Temple. On completion of the renovation work, the Kumbabishekam started on 17th May 2015 and on 20.05.2015 the temple was consecrated in commemoration of completion of 80 years of the establishment of the temple. Moreover on that occasion an idol of Arulmighu Balamurugan was installed within the premises of the temple by the extended family of Dr Tiruvengadu Subramania Pillai. “Kayilai Mamani” Thiru TN Somu Gurukkal, Tiruvengadu and his team conducted all the Aagama rituals and other religious activities. Dr J Rajamoorthy, Thiru Thandavamoorthy and Thiur Agara Mudalvan provided the live running commentary of the various happenings during the Kumbabishekam. Devotees of Tiruvengadu and from the neighbouring villages gathered in large numbers for the Kumbabishekam to have the blessings of Arulmighu Selva Vinayagar and Arulmigu Balamurugan.
